French toast casserole - the perfect pre-back to school lunch. A little peek at the wallpaper on the end wall in my kitchen now. What a difference going from an all wooden kitchen with dark counters to lots of white and pretty colors. It's now a happy spot rather than a spot to be endured.
Hi there! I haven't been over for quite a while due to the horrors of moving and what all, but now I'm back I'm so pleased to see all the progress you've made on your kitchen. I can't wait to see the whole thing! Did you ditch out on the painting the counters thing and go to an actual engineered fake stone? It looks wonderful. Why are you sanding off the gloss? Personal preference or something you are supposed to do?
I'm also thrilled to see your name is Bronwyn. I used to work with a Bronwyn, who had daughters named Bronwyn Lee, Sheree, and Rhiannon. I'm pretty sure at some point in their familial past they may have had some connection with Ireland.
Just wanted to stop in and say how much I love your blog. It's the first one I ever read!

Hi Sara Marie, I'm so glad you left a comment despite Typepad making it so difficult these days. That is the faux marble countertop that you see and I was going to take some gloss off because of the scratch factor but it seems to be quite tough, so maybe I'll just leave. I'll post the finished product soon when I get that pesky grout done!

My hat is off to you! (good sign you can't sand the shine off, I'm thinking!)
