This custom made silk and down French bergere chair was adopted by a certain elated blogger who plans to reupholster it in something unfailingly amazing. If you are a decorating fan and know what that fabric might be, you should say something. Spotted yesterday on Ebay with 8 hours left, she couldn't believe that nobody else outbid her in the final minute. She had been looking for a comfy reading chair for the window in her pink studio, and it just waltzed into her life. A little unsure if this was too fussy for her, she quickly saw that she could love it.

I'll have to move the pink desk elsewhere to make room for the chair in the corner. That's ok - husband needs a new desk, anyway. He'll be completely psyched .
David Hicks La Fiorentina would be spectacular, which Err is also considering for his new chairs. I'll add others as they come up. Anyone remember that red Chinoiserie blind in Domino -might have been in a Celerie Kimble charity room or something. I thought it was Quadrille but cannot find it. I loved that.

Oh what a deal!! AMAZING! I'd upholster it in a rough linen or off-white denim and then have something like shocking pink silk / satin for the back and sides! I love those comfy french bergeres!

Pink, What a great buy! I am in love with chairs, and the French bergere is one of my absolute faves! I just did a painting of one recently. How about you recover it in a tangerine hued toile?

Now that's my sort of chair.

You ROCK! I can't believe you got it. I was just wandering around the 'hood and saw some amazing mid-century mod chairs for so cheap that i thought i would have to buy them so no one else could have them!

You sure are good at this eBay malarkey. I was going to suggest white denim. The Fiorentina would also be amazing. I'd have something cool and contemporary to stop it being TOO girly. But I think that's just me...

Actually, forget what I said about girly and cover it in Andrew Martin Admiral (Tulipa collection.

I'm so glad you ended up winning that chair. And the David Hicks fabric would be spectacular...on yours and Eric's chairs.

I like chiang mai dragon (schumacher)...here is some from eBay but it doesn't do it justice. They put it in a lot of mag ads...

You're only joking about giving away that desk, right?
The "Lyford" Quadrille you spoke about was used in Ruthie Sommers room and Domino listed it as being available through Pacific Design Services. You can contact them through the Pacific Design Center in California through (310)360-6418 or at [email protected]. (I just happened to have all of my Domino 2007 issues next to my computer when I read this.)

I s so fun to see our progress! If I ever get to the furniure stage of my house, I might not know what to do with myself. I am a big fan of the Hicks fabric, but the one pink and brown fabric kiwi suggested is great too!

Wow, you have the magic touch! Every chair I ever find worth having seems to be $200 or more.
Congratulations on a fabulous find!

where does one look for these fabulous fabrics? i'm desperate for a huge brown and white geometric print (even wide stripes would be fine) to cover a similar (an similarly gorgeous!) chair...
