The table is painted! I am in love with the color and, once again, a sincere thank you to all of you for helping me.
I haven't kitted the table out just yet with its accoutrements since I'm waiting to finish the chandy. I did buy this Japanese vase on Ebay. I love its bulbousness. I've never had a bulbous vase so I'm doubly pleased with it. I am going to get a white shade for the lamp although if I hang a large Jackie there it might look odd. Oh, and the sad truth is that there is no plug on that wall. Do I really need a lamp there or will Jackie O's lips reflecting the chandelier light be enough?
Here is the ashtray in all its glory. It looks as good as it did the day of the coronation. Such a great find for $3.99.
I also have this beautiful Hammerpress letterpress art piece from Rose and Radish, which I found via SFGirlbyBay a few months ago. The colors are much more vibrant and pink than the photograph suggests. I took it to a professional framer the other day (ok, it was Michael's but it's my first step beyond Target for frames.) The guy there definitely had some serious style and he loved the print, really examined and admired it. I might hang it to the left of the front door so it will compliment Jackie's eyes and the chandy, which I will paint fuchsia since most of you seem so darned sure about it! Is it true confidence or do you just like to see how mad you can drive husband? Perhaps you have fantasies of doing it yourselves but know your spouse would freak out? C'mon - fess up!
The table looks FABULOUS. That's exactly the colour I was hoping you would use. Now cant wait to see chandy. Guess my post this morning was a little too late ;)...but the pic is SOOOO you - the colours and the mirrors.

Well, I love the table!!! And can't wait for the next progress pic. It is so nice to see you have such creative freedom in your home...I'm not in the decorating stage yet, so who know how that will go over with the man :)

The table looks so fabulous. Can't wait to see what knobs you choose. One of your bloggers sent a link to some red knobs that I found smashing.
You don't really need a lamp on that table - but that is a particularly beautiful lamp. Love the piercing. What about a ginger jar? There was one in Domino recently that had the piercing like your lamp.
Is the ashtray to drop your keys in?

The table looks awesome. I really like the vase and the lamp. When you are done Casapinka, would you like to come and do my house. It's fairly plain and uninteresting.

i really like that pierced lamp there... and foyers should have lamps! but with the plug-less situation... what about getting a pierced vase for that spot instead? personally i thought the blue of the desk needed a touch of green but that's just me :P yes PINK chandy.
good to hear from you again, btw!

Just curious what you were doing to refinish your chandelier. Am currently shopping for one in the "shabby" condition. I was thinking car paint....

I love that print. My grandmother was a beautician for years (like 40?) and would adore it too. I could totally see it hanging in her shop that I used to hang out in as a child. Can't wait to see the whole room all put together!!

Re: fuscia chandy, nope, no husband to drive wacky, it really is that the fuscia will balance out the turquoise with the black/white wallpaper and georgeous white lamp (which I am of the opinion you should keep on the desk, as its perfect, or find a vase of the same material and size/shape.) Actually that might be better, cos you wouldn't have to deal with the shade and the no-outlet issue. Then you could use the lamp as an "echo" of the hallway, somewhere, say, in the dining room?

I just painted my office HELLO KITTY PINK,....my husband gets sad and a bit angry everytime he looks at it. lol :) I love the table looks so good!!!!! I am so in love with your wallpaper!!!! Everytime I see it I love it more. Very fun. Do you have the Jackie Print already? I love the Jackie Andy Warhol print, with its bold red background. That would be fun too.(But that's more my style and my obsession with popart)

Come to think of it, maybe you would need the height of the shade on the lamp to balance it out on the desk. I'd look for black, and see if you could get a gold lining. Then just use it decoratively and forget about the no-outlet issue. Course you could always have an outlet run, but oh, I forgot, electrical for a decorating project is probably not going to be a priority until you get those trees hauled out of your backyard ... well, put the new outlet on your list of future to-do's and just enjoy the configuration of the vase, lamp and dish as they are for now, then think about running an electrical line to that wall, later.

Tell your hubby you have a cure for his agitation over the use of such vibrant colors in the Foyer: You'll allow him to use the back door to the house. He gets his own door, you get the Fab Foyer. Another marriage is saved!! ;-)
As usual, good work on the color scheme & decor.

Hello,
Your ash tray with Prince Rainier and Princess Grace of Monaco is from their 10th wedding anniversary. He ruled the principality from 1949 - so that is not from a coronation. (There are vases and plates that match that item, btw! Very sweet!)
