I just hung the little cuckoo clock and it's very lonely. I'll have to put more cuckoos and paint them as originally planned.
On the way out to hang the clock this little fellow was outside nosing around. I don't have a garden so naturally I was enchanted and didn't want to shoot him, like a lot of gardeners I know.
I've completed one curtain for PCP. It's slow going with small children who eat pins and climb on me (you should be proud of me - I didn't stop and take a pin in the mouth picture!) It's satisfying work, though, and little by little it is coming along. Shhh - don't tell my friend Jenni but I haven't pressed it yet. She is always telling me that half of sewing is ironing. And that whole seam allowance thing? I don't understand it at all. I roll it under so there is no frayed edge showing and then go for broke.
The cuckoo clock looks great!! And I like the idea of adding a few more around the window :)

Seam allowances are basically just an extra 5/8" built into patterns so you can sew a garment and it'll still fit. Don't sweat it on a curtain.

You're actually SEWING the curtains???? EGADS!!!!
One of my BEST FRIENDS in life is the iron-on NO SEWING tape. It's especially great on curtains 'cause it seals the edges of the fabric so that they doesn't fray, at the same time as sealing the edge for a seam.

Hey! I likey the decal idea! The clock is fantastic, and so are the curtains! You are so industrious. I have had my daughter's ikea drapes sitting here for a month until a can get around to buying the rod.

I was going to say why didn't you hang your very cute bird houses on the wall, but then I thought probably not safe. Maybe they could fall on little ones. Then I read the post above. What a cute idea! Cukoo clock decals!

I have really enjoyed watching your projects and I have to say that reading about everything you are getting done gives me a good swift kick to get going myself. I really love cuckoo clocks and have thought about just making a few different outlines on 1/4 inch plywood and cutting them out to make my own clocks. You could cover them with paper or cloth or you could paint them. I would love a red one for my bedroom...
