Anna, I just KNOW it's perfect!

I am rushing off to work now and my camera won't connect to do the post I wanted to on the Hemingway Room. Therefore, let's throw in a bit more communication between designer and designee. Anna, this is an oil painting that I really love. I got it for $10 on Ebay, a reproduction of one of Frida's self portraits. I hope you can help me fit it into the Hemingway room! It's just the right balance of quirk and art that might make me feel more comfortable in the room. What frame do you suggest for it? It's large (20 by 24 inches.) Can we make it fit in? Yes! the answer is supposed to be "Yes!"

Let's face it: A girl needs a bit of carte blanche on her birthday. I know you all didn't care for the other busts that I was considering, but this lovely lady was running out of time on Ebay tonight and she is coming home to live at Casapinka. I know you will love her when she finds a proper place, which will be on my vanity or in the foyer. You guys were right about those other busts: You just knew someone better would come along. Other busts in the sea, right? Anna, please don't worry; she will grow on you, I promise, and I will get you one of your own. Does anyone have any name suggestions?

Busted?

While my instinct is to keep everything well edited here at Casapinka, the reality, however, wins out. Anna is meeting with clients all day today and I am just getting ready to do a night shift at work. I don't have email at work so we won't be in contact for what could be another twenty-four hours because she will be asleep when I get home. I found these vintage Hawaiian busts and really like them. Are they hideous? I think they are lovely and would infuse a little of the unexpected in the Hemingway room, perched at the edge of the mantle, or on a little shelf. It is a conservative room for the most part, but a little bit of whimsy would be welcomed by me, to say the least. This is where I may need help reigning myself in. They are fairly small at six inches tall so I'm not asking for a life-sized head on the mantle. So, Anna: What do you think? Please don't kill me for posting them if you think they are too tacky! Finally, what do YOU (the reader) think? They really make me smile. Comments, comments, I want your honest comments!
