Finally got some better pics of my neon hued Bunting baby blanket.
It's midnight now and I'm up early for the first part of the Great Rhody Yarn Crawl, where I will be at In the Loop from 10am onwards tomorrow. One of their specialties is Indy Dyers, and from the owner, Cheryl, I've been introduced to Phydeaux Designs and Julie Asselin, a Canadian dyer. It's a very well curated shop, with the entire line of Quince yarns and the new Ito yarns which seem like Technicolor Habu (an oxymoron, no doubt.)
I actually designed a baby dress out of Julie Asselin's DK Merino/Silk yarn which is oh so lovely to have on the needles. The pattern will be up on Ravelry this weekend and available at the yarn crawl.
Sunday, I will be moving South to Barrington, RI, to Knit One Quilt Too, where Yvonne in her sunlit store with comfy couches will be hosting crawlers. She carries some gorgeous indy luxury fibers, as well as Rowan, Noro, Madelinetosh, among others, as well as embroidery kits and fabrics galore, real wool felt and silk ribbon. Hers is a true haberdashery, with no corner unused. You'll try to leave and see just one more item you have to examine! It's going to be a fun weekend around creative people and I really appreciate these lys owners inviting me to participate!
