The foyer is getting an overhaul, bit by bit. As you can see it was rather a glossy brown, as is the fireplace behind (not shown in the photo.) Don't worry, not for long! (Because I know you do worry about these types of things.) I found the absolutely most gorgeous fuchsia for it - Pantone Cabaret.
It took Mark a long time and three coats to get around all of those posts. That is a lot of glossy brown paint, folks! Mark did take a break to play some guitar, as he's a master cellist and guitar player. Carey, his wife, came to approve the Chinese lanterns I picked up at Pearl River in NYC. I hung them in the wrong place today which I guess is typical.
Other happenings in the Casapinka realm: A trip to NYC this past week with a visit to always delicious Nyonya for roti canai.
Binge watching of The Fall while finishing up a cardigan design. What a great series - Gillian Anderson is like getting Jane Tennison's(from Prime Suspect) alter ego back. I'm also giving a lecture on knitting design tomorrow at Warwick Public Library here in Rhode Island at 630pm.
And I know some of you count on my Junior stories to reassure you that you are stellar parents but I don't really have any at the moment. Husband hopped a plane to California for the weekend so I expected that Junior would velcro himself to my car or shove ABC gum into up his nose with a chopstick but he's actually growing a herb garden in a container all by himself. Last I checked they were all legal herbs. More pics to come of the foyer as it gets its makeover!
