Sweater and Hat Test Knitting

Recognize this? Would anyone like to test knit a sweater for me? I need sizes 34, 36, 40 and larger. Large ladies, don't be shy - I'd like to work with you to make a nice silhouette.  The sweater is made out of Madelinetosh Pashmina in Antique lace and some Koigu stash that I had sitting around, probably 50 yards of two colors. You could use any stash yarn in sock or fingering weight and no, I guess it wouldn't have to be pink. For the base color you do not have to use Tosh but a natual fiber with a nice drape would be preferred. It's a little bit of fair isle, a nice first project.

It's a top down knit, seamless, try it on as you go - my favorite! 

The hat was quickly comandeered by Juniorette and is 20 inches around. I'd love to have it test knit in 18 and 16 inches. Also,the tulips will have extra little points like the sweater. Bright Pink Table

Isn't this revamped table wonderful? I got a call last weekend from a friend to go on a quick road trip to see her friend's garage. He reworks old furniture and has access to a spray paint lab where he lacquers the wood to whatever color your heart desires. His garage is full of these treasures!

I think Husband nearly had kittens when he saw this because he figured it was going to be our new kitchen table. Luckily, we were able to put away the nitroglycerin since we already have an unpainted wood table that he was seen caressing later that evening. If anyone is interested in this, please send me an email. 

Sugar Swirls Knitting Pattern

Sugar Swirls is my latest knitting pattern. It looks as though there is piped icing running across it. It's quite a simple stitch to do, though.

It moves along quickly since it's a fingering weight on size 5 needles. I'm interested to see the different colorways people come up with, especially for boys. Gray and neon yellow , anyone?

Purple Ombre

I've never been a huge fan of purple but I saw this yarn gradation on Pinterest and fell in love with it.  The link introduced me to the brilliantly talented Erica of Colorshift Yarn. This woman understands details of color like no one I've ever encountered:  The art, physics and chemistry of it. You have to look at her work if to stare at it in fascination. I just ordered this for a new design. They aren't colors I typically use but I'll soldier through to reach the pink, sure I will. The effect of all of them together is fascinating to me!

I saw this J.Crew montage recently and realized I'm not the only one with shades of pretty lavenders on the brain. I especially love that top one on the left.

 I attempted to photograph the yarn she dyed for me  but our kitten, KitKat, kept getting in the picture.  I have some great new patterns that are completed and I'll be putting one of them up next week so be sure to check back!

Pink Daisies

Holy cow, busy times at Casapinka. Here's a bouquet of flowers for all of you and I should be back to blogging full time soon. We've had lots of house guests which is fun but busy!
