Casapinka is located on a peninsula in a bay. It is in a difficult spot to reach which is why we didn't know anything about this neck of the woods and never looked for a house here. It's turning out to be an absolute hidden gem, stalker aside. These peonies were brought to me yesterday in a fetching Gatorade bottle by a neighbor. I managed to find my Cath kidston pitcher for them which I purchased at the (sigh) Cath Kidston Outlet in Ireland last year. I spent a good bit of yesterday dodging wet children as they darted in and out for snacks and then back to the Slip and Slide. The woman who brought the flowers wants to make a Christmas tree out of driftwood, which really got me excited. People like that don't come along very often. Last week she and her kids took us to see horses, a turkey, sheep, guinea hens, baby ducklings and a goat which live a block away! I had no idea there was a farm almost in my backyard.
It's novel ue for us to live in a place where we can throw out bowls of watermelon and forks as the side door bangs open and closed on the whims of kids. In and out, onto walls, digging for treasure, climbing trees. I also valiantly allowed Juniorette a sleepover on Friday. How unique to have a home where girls can paint nails in one room while Junior is short-sheeting their beds undetected in another room. Spying is also a big avocation here. We have a secret tunnel and a stairway to nowhere which I'm going to keep mentioning since these were childhood fantasies of mine!
Furthermore, the Root Beer Tree produced SIX CANS of root beer which means husband and I also got root beer too for a change. We haven't had a root beer tree since Tennessee! Last night Husband brought home a bunch of corn and we ate outside and enjoyed a glass of wine as the kiddos continued to annihilate each other with the hose in between stealing each other's corn. Nueva Casapinka is turning into a wonderful and joyful abode!
i'm so happy for you all <3 ++++
