I think pretty shutters are a nice thing to look at after a hurricane passes by. I like the thought of opening them up and starting a new day, albeit with a lot of destruction outside the window.
We were fortunate in my area of Rhode Island. We didn't lose power and were spared any flooding.
That said, the beginning of school has been delayed by a day but this is a good thing since Junior surreptitiously ate all of the strawberry jello I had made and didn't retire until 1030pm. His new teacher ought be grateful. Images from 79 Ideas and Decorology and My Home Ideas
I am so glad you made it through with minimal damage. I have been glued to the tv watching it all unfold.

P.S. I adore the blue shutters, but it is the white floors that has me drooling. I can't get enough of them lately! I wish I could paint my floors white.
