I like Lisa Congdon's birdhouse print a lot. I find it very sweet but not just because it's pink. I imagine all manner of birds living in these houses, from flamboyant, outspoken, brightly colored birds to bookish, nerdy birds with horn rimmed glasses.
Lisa is definitely one of those artists "living the dream." Self-taught, we've seen her start with a blog (now closed) a few years ago, get her kitchen on the cover of a Paumes book, rent studio space so she didn't have to do her art on her couch (oh, what a dream) and she also owns Rare Device, a gallery and design shop in San Francisco.
What steps are you going to take in the new year to move you toward your dream? They don't have to be big steps, just something to move you forward a bit at a time. Various artists and writers talk about the "still, small voice" inside. What is yours telling you to do?
