I took my 2nd oil painting class this week. My wonderful teacher, Margaret, kind of bummed me out by squirting out white, red, black and cat poop colors and I could only work from them. "Where's the pink? The chartreuse? The magenta and aqua?!" Well, she encouraged me to stick with it and when she sent me this photo, i can't believe that I actually did this! I mean, even Husband identified the thing on the left as a pear. Not that it will go with anything in my home, but I hope it's the beginning of something pink wonderful.

I have wanted to try out oils. They are really intimidating to me for some reason. I think the results of your 2nd class are fabulous!

I'm so jealous!
I just know I could learn to draw and paint even though anything I've attempted up to now has been so grammar school.
You've done a fabulous job.

I am delighted that you found the cat poop gratifying in some way! Go pink, Go!
(the thing on the right is a small white/cup/bowl -maybe for preserves or a giant gob of butter?-from ikea)
and, to reiterate: second oil painting class. EVER. Bravo!

pInk! You are a natural! And you tried to fool me and make me think I could show you how to paint. Next lesson will be you teaching me! I believe your pear qualifies as 'painterly'!
